Transferring Downloaded Books via USB Cable
It is the simplest thing to do. Just follow the steps:
- Connect the Kindle device, which contains the data, to your computer using USB data cable. In “My Computer” you will find your Kindle device. Click and open it.
- On opening the drive of Kindle device, you will find multiple folders. Transfer the files, e-books, and other documents from these folders to your computer’s hard drive.
- Connect the other new Kindle device, in which the data has to be transferred, to your computer. The new device will also be found in the form of a removable disk in “My computer”. Now, transfer the documents from computer’s hard drive to the new Kindle device.
Note: One should keep it in mind that the normal books have to be transferred in “Documents” directory and the audio books in “Audible” directory. If you transfer books into incorrect directory, your might not be able find the books on your Kindle device in respective library and you might need to contact Kindle Customer Service to relocate your eBooks.
Transferring Books That Your Have Purchased
You don’t have to take much strain to transfer the purchased books. All the books that you have purchased are stored in your Kindle Cloud. You only need to de-register your account in the old Kindle and re-register it on the new one. As soon as you complete the registration, all you have do is Sync your new Kindle device and it will automatically download all the that you have purchased from the Amazon cloud if not please read related articles from Kindle Help on official Amazon blog.
Note: One can register the Amazon Account on several Kindle devices. But, this doesn’t mean that the purchased books will auto- sync to both of your Kindles. Only the later registered device will sync, at the same time, the already downloaded books still remain on the old device that you can read at any time.
Alternatively if you want to transfer only selected books not the all then you have to login into your Amazon account then go to Content and Devices, select the books that you want to transfer to your new Kindle.
